Peanut Butter Pie

“ We don’t eat moms.”
“ We don’t eat dads.”
“ We don’t lick moms”
“ We don’t lick dads”
“ We don’t lick cars”
“We don’t lick dad’s car”

Oh the mind of a 2 year old, I almost crossed lanes driving my child home hearing this.

Delightfully borrowed for probably the 97,421st time from PIONEER WOMAN

INGREDIENTS

• FOR CRUST
• 25 whole Oreos
• 4 Tablespoons Butter, Melted
• _____
• PEANUT BUTTER FILLING:
• 1 cup Creamy Peanut Butter
• 1 package (8 Ounce) Softened Cream Cheese
• 1-¼ cup Powdered Sugar
• 1 package (8 Ounce) Cool Whip, Thawed

DIRECTIONS

This pie is darn diggity good, shall we begin (by the way due to my lack of typing skills I had to back space like fifty times to spell begin right!!)

Also, I have a lack of kitchen gear. We are going to make this pie ghetto style. Feel free to use your more….from this century devices. So, crush the cookies..

Now place them into a baggie and use your rolling pin to get them “fine”…oh oreos! Remember, we are using ALL parts of the oreo – Don’t think you can eat the middles. I see you!

Now that they are amply crushed, add the butter and mix well. Now dump the oreo mixture into a prepared pie pan, aka butter and flour it.

If you admired my hand in the first shot don’t worry, it was photo shoot day for lefty. I mean Lefty never get’s the glory until today. Press the mixture firmly down.

Bake the crust at 350 for 7 minutes, remove from the oven and let it cool. Now it’s righty's turn, did I mention my lack of devices…I might have cried when I realized my hand mixer died and the next step involved the mixing of Peanut Butter and Cream Cheese….tears

Peanut Butter + Cream Cheese

Peanut Butter + Cream Cheese + Powdered Sugar, pass the tissues..and some muscle rub.

Peanut Butter + Cream Cheese + Powdered Sugar + Cool Whip, Lick the spoon for more energy if you need it.

AHHHHHHHH, done.

Now place your mixture into your 25 oreo cookie crust with filling, word. Now you also might choose to run about 10 miles at this point just to offset the forthcoming calorie intake.

Now make it pretty. Maybe open a window & shades, enjoy the nice reflection off of your creation.

Here is what you need now – Scissors, Parchment Paper, and 10 more crushed oreos..no centers…enjoy..

Press your strips ever so slightly into the pie, if they are left high the crumbs stripes might not be neat.

Next sprinkle with oreo crumbs, press down slightly with fingers to make sure they stick.

Next you huff and you puff, and you blow the extra off.

And then you…

Then you actually have to put it in the fridge for 4 hours. It needs to set up.

This weekend was so full of the Holiday spirit and friends, this pie is sure to at least be a bit different from all of your normal fare.

Here's to a short and quick week, I hope..fingers crossed ya'll.

  4. Peanut butter and Oreos- nothing but yum here! And I'm sure that the calories you burned mixing the cream cheese, peanut butter and confectioners sugar negated any calories in the pie. :)
