Glasses and Candied Pecans
Apparently I have been driving around blind, and I didn't even notice until the last few days. Basically I felt like someone was pumping air into my head (no jokes please), and that it might explode at any moment. I took a quick trip to the doctor and she let me know I realllllly needed to be checked out for glasses, and I did immediately.
After the new glasses were purchased I hit the rode, and my world has changed! I had no idea cars didn't have 16 tail lights.... The trees now have individual little leaves and I don't have to squint at the TV to see which Real Housewives marathon I'm watching.
I also noticed the the floor drastically needs mopped and there's dust all over the baseboards. Something tells me these glasses are going to make me clean tons this weekend. Hmmmm...maybe my husband needs glasses...
I also made the realization that I am a recipe repeater at the moment. I accept this. I long to be the blogger that creates rather then repeats and passes on but that's just not me. I'm simply a super busy mom who loves her kids, hubby, TV, wine, and random crap she cooks borrowed from other peoples wonderful imaginations.
Everyone has a role to play and I am happy to accept mine! I am the queen of bad TV, sauvignon blanc, over medium eggs for dinner, messy cars, pop music, and putting way too much butter on toast.
This week I managed to candy some pecans and bake some chocolate chip cookie bars with them. In all honesty I preferred to just eat the candied pecans, super super yummy.
Folks, have a grand weekend.

Indogo is such a pretty girl! Love those bars and candied pecans.
Cheers,

Happy Weekend Sauv Blanc Butter queen!! You're still blogging - and entertaining the hell out of us - so there's that! And what you 'repeat' is always delicious so who cares?
Those bars look amazing! Can you interoffice some to me?
Indigo is such a cutie!
Mmmm...chocolate chip bars can never be made too often according to my hubby! Indigo is getting so big...what a doll!
Haha, I know what you mean about being able to REALLY see. When I look in the mirror without glasses though, my skin looks so much smoother and younger:)
Yummy treats and cute-as-a-button daughter:)
Wow, is that the symptoms for needing glasses, a blown up head? Sounds scary!! Glad you got it all fixed up though :)
I need glasses, too! But I'm not sure I want to see all the dust. Indigo is just precious, so photogenic. And she looks like she has a little imp in her. I think you should accept your role as a great mom, too.
Indigo is a pretty lady now. I love her shirt..so girly and sweet.
Did she really finish 4 pieces pecan bars? wow...
Oh yeah...I well remember the first time I drove after glassses (many years ago) and could actually read the street signs!
When I fussed over cleaning every little corner in my house, my mother always used to say...don't bother, nobody can see in the corners anyway. I didn't believe her then, but I sure do now.
i think its awesome you embrace being a recipe repeater. I've long been the same way. Also, Indigo looks so lovely in these photos!!
I could eat hundreds of those candied pecans lol
lovely fun photos!
I remember when I first got my glasses..the leaves on the tree were the most amazing things to see..
oh it's so nice to be able to seeeee! i RARELY create my own recipes, at best i slightly adapt, i've come to accept it too. however, your writing and stories are so fun and original that i hope you never stop posting!
I love candied pecans and I LOVE that 2nd picture of your daughter. Everything about it is just perfect, and hey, who doesn't want a repeat of a good thing?
those bars look amazing! Your house must always smell amazing! xx
If you are seeing "too well" now, I prescribe several stiff drinks. Beer googles work for a reason, lol.
