A Shiny Giveaway

So, something really cool happened a few days ago. My husband threw a ball to my daughter and she caught it. As the ball came into her hands the sides up my lips flipped into a smile, and so did hers. I saw a gloss wash over her face of pure happiness and her emotion spread nearly thirty feet over to me.

It has only happened a few times in my life, but at that moment the world went silent and I was right in the thick of my daughter’s soul. She was so very happy, so happy that she quickly infected me..thanks Indigo, I needed that.

I would absolutely love to spread a little happiness, and make someone else feel a little bit “shiny”. Shiny is what, I want to dub those earth quieting moments. So, would you like to feel shiny?

This is my first gift from the Spectrum, simply be attached via the follower button and leave a comment about a “shiny” moment you have had! I will have Little Miss Indigo pick a number out of a mixing bowl next Friday on November 12th for the winner. Just keep in mind I will need to ship this to you, meaning I will need an address from the winner. I am only able to ship within the landlocked portion of the good ole USA.

I am dubbing this the “shiny” gift. Included is:

1. A Nice Shiny Pasta Strainer
2. Very small and cool Shiny mini ingredient holders, great for prep
3. Sultry and Shiny Wine Gear
4. A super shiny and hopefully to be well used Flour Sifter
5. The Star and Shiny ingredient to all who bake, Vanilla Beans from Madagascar

Oh...yah...here are the gifts! Please have a fantastic weekend & be safe.

I am in Canada, so I can't enter this. I did however want to tell you how this made me smile :). I never knew how much I could connect to someones soul until I had a baby... it's amazing isn't it?! Those moments that make the earth go silent make all the stressful moments seem worth it.

My shiney moment was when I was nursing my daughter in the early hours of morning when the sun was coming up. I saw her looking at me... and I watched the sun sweep across her face. That moment time stood still.

A recent shiny moment I've had was watching lots of glittery confetti falling and reflecting off of glass buildings in San Francisco during the Giants victory parade on Wednesday. So exciting!

I grinned from ear to ear when I read the part about you being right in the thick of your daughter's soul. I can completely relate! Everyday I witness moments like these with my children. I wouldn't trade these moments for anything in the world. :)

What a great post and a great giveaway!

My shiny moment story would be the first time my daughter smiled at me. She was a preemie, so it took her a while to find that smile. When she did, though, it was golden, and she gave it just to me! Beautiful!

My shiny moment was when my son was six months old and I had been working on teaching him to clap. It wasn't going very well until one day I went to pick him up from day care and there he was clapping away! The day care teachers thought nothing of it but my heart just overflowed with joy!

I want those vanilla beans! A shiny moment happened just yesterday when I put my just 2 yr old son on the phone with my Mom and without being prompted he said, "Hi Mom-mom, I love you!" I wasn't expecting it and I think it made her cry.

Great giveaway!

What a great moment of you and your husband! Thanks for sharing.
A shiny moment for me had to be when my dad recently looked me in the eye and said "I'm really proud of the woman you have become" aaaaahhhhhh!!!! :)

So, I'm not a Mommy yet so one of my shiny moments doesn't quite compare to your precious moment with your adorable daughter, but the first time these two eyes glimpsed the New York city skyline 3 years ago, my life changed. It was as though suddenly I realized how I'd neglected my creative, dreamer spirit and we met again in that moment.

Way to go, Indigo!

My moment was watching my daughter, Olivia, shine during her solo in her 4th grade musical. She had practiced so much, and when she finally stepped up to the mic and sang out in her clear, sweet little voice, I thought that my heart would burst!

What a great moment! I had my shiny moment yesterday when I held me less than a day old niece. I've never held a newborn before and she absolutely took my breath away!

What a fun giveaway and a cute story... your daughter is adorable. Well, it's Friday and one of my shiny moments happen each week when we have our family date nights. Some weeks we stay in some weeks we go out. Tonight we are dressing up and going out. It's such a fun way to spend time with my family. Have a super weekend!!!

My shiny moment....
Hopefully this doesn't sound lame, but with 3 kiddos in the house, my breath gets taken away daily. Everything from watching them play and be kind with one another to doing something that makes me understand that it all happens so fast.

That is such a wonderful moment that you shared. It made me feel shiny. It is times like those when we realize what is important. Don't you wish those feelings lasted for always?

I love your shiny giveaway. It is shiny..lol...and awesome! I am a follower. I am trying to think of a shiny moment..hmmm. I have had so many. But if I had to choose one, my latest shiny moment would be when my 13-year-old told me she had done something really nice for another girl in school who was being bullied; I was so proud of her that she had been so kind.

What a cutie! I love her curly curly hair!

Having 3 kids gives me so many shiny moments - the most recent:

My little curly headed kid climbed in my lap, grabbed my face and said "mom, mom . . . I love you!" so shiny it hurt. Then he said, "mom, mom . . . I love games." At least I was first.

Keep em coming, these are so lovely...and some are just hilarious too!

My shiny moment was when my 17 year old curled up next to me on the couch yesterday and said: "I love you mom, you are the coolest, I think I will really miss you next year when I start college" I almost started crying right there and then, I guess I did something right in raising her :o)

My last shiny moment was 2 days ago. My 10 y/o finished a pretty lengthy book that I had already read. We talked about it for over an hour. Everything just stopped and I realized how smart she is and how I didn't do a half bad job at raising her.

My shiny moment...

Changing my sons name to something that was so much more "him" a week after we brought him home from the hospital. shhh.... :)

Delightful! So many of our shining moments revolve around the gleeful youngsters in our lives!

My shining moment was recently. My son, who is 18 years of age, joined the Army. He has gone through Basic and is currently in MP school. One of our conversations on the phone, he said with earnest, "Mom, This is what I was born to do". Sometimes, our sons (and daughters) grow up to be warriors. And those are the ones we rely on to keep us safe....and free.

Shining moment: Your child is happy in life.

After you stopped by my blog, I came to visit yours and become a follower. Lucky me that I also get to enter your fantastic giveaway!

I have an 18 month old, and I just got done rolling around and giggling with her on the couch! It's one of those moments where you just can't hug them, squeeze them, love them enough. A shiny moment indeed!

My shiny moment was coming home from a long night at work to find my boyfriend home early, warming up the bed and armed with a hug. :)

Wow. What an awesome moment. <3 My son is 10 months old, and I love seeing that look when he realizes he can do something. Just before I started reading this this morning, he put a circle-shaped block into the circle-shaped hole in his shape-sorting bucket for the first time, and he just lit up. So precious. Keep sharing!

Awww, what a sweet post! I'm just sitting here with a big smile on my face, you brought me right back to such precious moments when my kids were all little - so many shiny moments back then. One of my favorites was when my son was 4 and out on the football field playing flag football for the first time - he was as proud that day as if he'd just been signed up with the NFL. He got in the line up, looked over at me with such pride, had his little tongue sticking out in deep concentration and gave me a thumbs up. I right there sharing his soul at that moment. My younger son at the same age left the field in the middle of a play to bring me a flower he found out there, LOL! Two totally different moments but both shine :-)
Great giveaway!

Love it! She is absolutely precious! My shiny moment happens twice a week when I pick up my son from school. I walk into the classroom and watch him play for a minute until he notices me. His whole face lights up and he screams "MOMMY!!!", drops his friends like a bad habit and runs into my open arms. It never ever ever gets old!
