Quick Sliders

So, I was feeling a little crazy and decided I wanted some Taco Bell. Please don’t judge, I had just cleaned out our 12 junk drawers and totally deserved it.

Being even crazier I decided to Google the calories, before I got my Cheesy Gordita Crunches. I highly recommend doing this if you don’t want to eat Taco Bell…but still feel that “urge”. 540 calories a piece! Urge gone.

I am a little heartbroken over this caloric discovery.

Chick-Fil-A filled in just fine though (I decided not Google this), waffle fries are stuck all over my couch with honey mustard but me and Indigo are highly satisfied and no one has to run 16 miles tomorrow for it. Maybe 7 but that is super way less than 16. I super promise you that I am going to run those 7 miles.

I also decided that since I consumed so many calories I should share a healthy meal with you now.

Yeah, not.

I forgive you if you forgive me? Deal
Delightfully borrowed from AllRecipes

Ingredients

• 2 pounds ground beef
• ¾ of an envelope onion soup mix
• 1/2 cup mayonnaise
• 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
• 24 dinner rolls, split

Directions

Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Cover a baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray with cooking spray.

Mix together the ground beef and onion soup mix in a large skillet; cook and stir over medium-high heat until the beef is crumbly, evenly browned, and no longer pink. Drain and discard any excess grease. Remove from heat. Let this cool completely before you stir the mayonnaise and Cheddar cheese into the ground beef mixture.

Lay the bottoms of the dinner rolls on the prepared baking sheet. Spread the cheese and beef mixture on the bottom half of each roll. Replace the tops. Cover with another sheet of aluminum foil sprayed with cooking spray.

Bake in the preheated oven until the burgers are heated through and cheese melts, about 30 minutes. I let mine rest for another 15 out of the oven before serving.

Off to run now...pinkie swear

I NEVER would have thought to mix up the beef with mayo & cheese and baking them. Granted, I've never tried to make them before but they're so fun! Definitely going on next month's menu. Or maybe todays...they look that good.

First I must start by saying that our kitchens are painted the same pumpkiny color. Love that color!
These little beefy sliders look delicious. I would most likely loose count of how many I put away :)

The nice thing about making food at home is that it takes way more work to figure out how many calories are in it, so you can eat in blissful ignorance! Those sliders look fantastic.

Ooh I love Taco Bell. LOVE it. But I'd never google the calories or I'd never eat it again. I'm just a simple crunchy taco kind of girl. harmless, right?

THese look delicious and perfect for today. I wish I had everything to make them because I've been craving a burger!

Ha ha ha! Something tells me you ended up doing all 16;) I hate to admit it, but it really bummed me out to discover that Chilis puts calorie counts on their menus now. Talk about buzz kill.

Having an old timer and a jug of beer was about the only thing I looked forward to when I have to fly - and now I don't even have THAT.

Love the sliders lady. SO perfect for this sports-tastic day!

i just love sliders! the onion soup mix is a great idea!

i went to a restaurant the other day that had it's calorie count next to every single menu. total buzzkill, it's hard to enjoy deep fried mozzerella sticks when you know exactly how many calories you're consuming.

These sound so yummy! Do they hold together well or get messy like sloppy joes?

These look better than any fast food I have had! Yum!

I do appreciate that calories can be found easily on the web. Some things are way more that I would have imagined.

The following quip was on my friends blog the other day...

What is a calorie?

Calories are the little buggers that get into your closet at night and sew your clothes tighter.

Gulp! So many calories! I am glad that I never have a craving for Taco Bell's type of foods! Home made is always better :-)

I have STRONG cravings for McDonald's french fries and those little tubs of ketchup. I'm feeling one coming on right now! I think these sliders are just adorable though, and they would knock any fast food burger out of the water! Thank you for sharing, sweet woman. Many blessings this week!

Whenever I read those nutritional guides that come with menus always turn me off from eating just about anything. It is best to not look and just cure the craving! All is forgiven with these lovely sliders.

I don't think there's a one of us who doesn't crave stuff like this, at least once in a while! I wish you could have inspired me yesterday, though, for my superbowl soiree . . . the guys (and gals) would have loved these even better than chili!

I am a firm believer in the fact that if you are going to eat at Taco Bell or some place like it, you should not ask two things: what's in it and how many calories are in it!! Just go...eat it..and forget about it! lol
The sliders look fantastic, Jen!

I usually order Nachos Bell Grande with the neon orange cheese on top...wonder how many calories there.

What fun little sliders. Wish I would have made these for the SB yesterday!

Bejezzus- I LOVE these!!!! I do not judge regarding the Taco Bell either - I am secretly dond of their vegetarian 7 layer buritto!

I'm making the mistake of not only looking at food blogs around lunch when I'm STARVING, but also when my husband told me to email him my grocery list, since he's out running errands! Definitely adding ground beef to the list!

LOL Maybe continue clearing another 12 drawers to balance off all the calories. They are delicious!

I haven't had Taco Bell in years. I missed 'in-and-out' burger. I used to have the double-double every week when I used to live in SoCal.
The sliders looks lovely and I'm sure way better than taco bell. :)
