Puppy Chow
Puppy Chow, Reindeer Food, Fish Food – Call it what you will. This is a fantastic movie night treat. Being the smart girl that I am, I planned on letting toddlers eat this while watching The Little Mermaid. If you think about it, what could go wrong with toddlers eating chocolate smothered treats on your nice carpet?? Exactly! Not my shiniest moment.
INGREDIENTS (makes enough for like 8 rottweilers)
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup butter
1 cup chocolate chips
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
9 cups Crispix cereal (any flavor)
1-1/2 cups powdered sugar
DIRECTIONS
1. Combine peanut butter, butter and chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl.
2. Microwave for one minute then stir to blend all ingredients thoroughly. Add 1/2 tsp. vanilla. Stir well.
3. Place the 9 cups of Crispix cereal in a very large bowl.
4. Pour the peanut butter-chocolate mixture over the cereal and toss evenly, making sure all the cereal gets a good covering.
5. Coat with powdered sugar, sprinkling evenly over the cereal and tossing as you sprinkle to cover each piece well. Place the whole lot in your freezer for at least 2 hours - these puppies are great frozen.
“Here boy, Here boy!”

I love puppy chow! Have you tried the white chocolate version, White Trash? It's really yummy!
I forgot about puppy chow! I used to love it when I was little. I remember it always being around at Christmas parties.
Yum, yum! This looks like one delicious snack!
I like your new banner! and whatever you call it, it looks DELISH.
Oh no...your poor carpet! I've never had this before, but I'd love to try it, even though there are no toddlers here!
This looks so good but terrible story: once I was watching a dog and someone had this. I thought it was dog food and gave it to the mutt who ended up getting violently ill. It was an honest mistake.
mm this look ssoo goood!!!!!
We love Puppy Chow here!
Yum yum..that looks so tempting...will make some tomorrow!

I made this with a couple of toddlers I baby sit for...and they loved it almost as much as I did! This stuff is so good...and so addicting! I could eat an entire batch. Thanks for sharing!
I make this every year around Halloween and call it Mummy Munch. It's so sugary and addicting and I can't wait to make it again!
Plastic tablecloths make excellent carpet covers for little ones!! This is such a fun treat, I imagine they enjoyed eating it.
Yum, I love this kind of tasty treat. You can't beat chocolate and peanut butter.
My mom used to make Puppy Chow all the time.. she used to call it People Chow though! lol I had almost forgotten about these wonderful little gems!
I promise not to stain the carpet. Now can I have some:-) It sounds delicious. I hope you are having a great day. Blessings...Mary

We used to eat this all the time growing up...sadly my kids have never had it! I for sure need to make this for them!
I think my kids would love calling this puppy chow. Looks like fun in a bowl to me! :)
Great recipe. I'll add it to my growing list of things to make. Sigh.
