Cheese Muffins with Sage

I am so so excited, I just scored some VIP tickets for me and my little human to go see Disney On Ice … Girlfriend is going to flip and I will score many points for this one. I am also happy about the weather change, no AC last night because we dropped into the 50’s – LOVE

Now let me paint the picture of a fabulous evening I had last night.
Couch, Cinderella, Comforter, Cuddling, Cheddar Soup…and Cheese Muffins

INGREDIENTS

1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 ½ cups Sharp White Cheddar
1 ½ cups Sharp Cheddar
1 cup milk
1 egg
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) melted butter
4-6 sage leaves, chopped

DIRECTIONS

Whisk together dry ingredients, then stir in cheese.

In a separate bowl, whisk egg, milk, sage, and butter together. Pour milk mixture into dry ingredients and stir with a spoon to combine.

Bake in floured/buttered muffin tins at 375 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
Makes 12.

Now, let’s get our MUNCH on

You and your little one are going to have so much fun! I went to Disney on Ice with my niece a few years ago, and she had the best time! These savory muffins look delicious. I'm all about the cheese! Thanks for sharing!

I am not much of a fan of savory muffins but these I would definite give a try. Regardless of my lactose intolerance, he.

These look delish! I have a savory sausage-cheddar-bell pepper muffin recipe I think you'd really love, assuming you're not vegetarian ;) Even without the sausage, though, I think they'd still be great! Thanks for sharing this recipe.

I did some cheese scones on my blog the other week but I think these muffins look easier to make and are more moist. Yours look great, it looks like they were still warm when you photographed that one inside?

sarah - They were warm inside, however I also enjoyed them cold the next day too - they kept well.

Yum!!!! Is it bad that I am seriously in love with the green polka dot plate? I'm such a sucker for anything with polka dots!

Those look so good and remind me of a sad story. My husband actually baked some muffins with cheddar cheese a few months ago and he was really excited. He made them a day in advance, to go with some corn chowder the next night. Well, he didnt' let them cool before putting them in a tin on the counter and it was still a million degrees out. They got moldy and we had to throw them out. So sad! He never made 'em again. Boo.
